Assistant Quantity Surveyor : Role Overview
Support the commercial success of retail projects by managing costs, procurement, and contracts under senior surveyors, with opportunities to grow in a top fit out firm.

Assistant Quantity Surveyor : Key Responsibilities

• Manage project budgets, forecasts, and risks.


• Handle Construction Management/JCT Contracts, variations, and warranties.


• Oversee procurement, tenders, and subcontractor performance.


• Conduct monthly valuations and cash flow forecasts.


• Document and negotiate variations and final accounts.


• Provide weekly financial updates and attend project meetings.


• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.


• Maintain records and support process improvements.

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar (or HNC/HND with experience).

• Background in construction/fit out commercial management, ideally retail.


• Knowledge of contracts, procurement, valuations, and forecasting.


• Familiarity with reporting and project meetings.

• Strong analytical and organizational skills.


• Proficient in Excel and cost management tools.


• Good communicator, negotiator, and team player.

• Retail/leisure fit out experience.


• Awareness of sustainable construction or project management tools.

• Passionate, resilient, and eager to grow in a fast\-paced environment.

Job Types: Full\-time, Fixed term contract

Pay: £35,000\.00\-£40,000\.00 per year
