Assistant Manager – Busy Beer\-Led Local Pub
We are looking for an enthusiastic and hands\-on Assistant Manager to join our busy community pub team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for great beer, excellent customer service, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for our regulars and new customers alike.
Our pub is proudly beer\-led, with a strong focus on rotational cask ales, quality draught products, and delivering a first\-class experience in a fast\-paced locals’ pub environment.
The Role
As Assistant Manager, you will support the day\-to\-day running of the pub and work closely with the General Manager to ensure high standards across service, cellar quality, and team performance.
You will be expected to lead from the front, build strong relationships with customers, and help drive wet sales through excellent product knowledge and genuine hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the daily operation of a busy locals’ pub
- Delivering exceptional customer service at all times
- Maintaining high standards of cellar management and beer quality
- Managing and promoting rotational cask ales and draught products
- Supervising, motivating, and training the bar team
- Assisting with stock control, ordering, and line cleaning schedules
- Handling cashing up, opening, and closing procedures
- Ensuring compliance with licensing, health \& safety, and company standards
- Helping create a welcoming and community\-focused atmosphere
- Previous supervisory or management experience in a pub or bar environment
- Strong knowledge of cask ales, craft beer, and draught products
- Passion for hospitality and customer engagement
- Ability to thrive in a busy, fast\-paced pub setting
- A positive, reliable, and hands\-on attitude
- Good leadership and communication skills
- Cellar management experience preferred but not essential
