About the Role
We’re looking for a hands\-on Pub Manager to take full responsibility for the day\-to\-day running of our venue.
This isn’t a desk job. We need someone who can lead from the front, build a strong team, deliver great customer service, drive sales, and make sure the business is operating safely, legally and profitably.
The right person will be just as comfortable pulling pints on a busy Saturday night as they are analysing weekly sales figures, managing stock, controlling costs and developing the team.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations
- Oversee the day\-to\-day running of the pub.
- Ensure high standards of service, cleanliness and presentation throughout the venue.
- Manage opening and closing procedures.
- Maintain compliance with all licensing, health and safety and food safety requirements.
- Deal professionally with customer feedback and complaints.
- Recruit, train and develop team members.
- Create staff rotas that meet the needs of the business.
- Lead, motivate and support the team to deliver excellent customer experiences.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching.
- Deliver agreed sales and profit targets.
- Manage labour costs and staffing levels.
- Control stock, minimise waste and investigate variances.
- Monitor weekly and monthly financial performance.
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue and profitability.
- Drive food, drink and event sales.
- Work with the marketing team to promote the business locally.
- Develop and deliver events that attract new and returning customers.
- Build relationships within the local community.
- Ensure full compliance with licensing laws.
- Maintain health and safety standards.
- Complete all required records and documentation accurately.
- Protect company assets and cash handling procedures.
- Previous experience managing a pub, bar, restaurant or hospitality venue.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Experience managing stock, labour and financial performance.
- Ability to work under pressure and make decisions quickly.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Good understanding of licensing and health \& safety requirements.
- Commercial awareness and a desire to grow the business.
