Don Giovanni, one of Manchester city centre’s established Italian restaurants, is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Assistant Manager to join our management team.

We are looking for a hands\-on hospitality professional who thrives in a busy restaurant environment, leads from the front and is passionate about delivering exceptional service and memorable guest experiences.

The Role

Working closely with the Restaurant Manager and senior management team, you will help oversee the day\-to\-day running of the restaurant and ensure consistently high standards across every service.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the smooth running of lunch and dinner services


• Leading, motivating and supervising the front\-of\-house team


• Ensuring exceptional standards of customer service


• Maintaining Don Giovanni's service and presentation standards


• Training and developing team members


• Managing opening and closing procedures


• Supporting staff rotas and ensuring appropriate staffing levels


• Handling guest enquiries, feedback and complaints professionally


• Overseeing bookings, large parties and special occasions


• Ensuring company procedures and operational standards are followed


• Supporting stock control and reducing unnecessary wastage


• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety and health \& safety


• Working closely with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth service


• Supporting the Restaurant Manager with the overall performance of the restaurant

The successful candidate will:

• Have previous management or supervisory experience within a busy restaurant or premium hospitality environment


• Be confident managing a team during high\-volume services


• Have excellent communication and leadership skills


• Be highly organised and able to remain calm under pressure


• Have strong attention to detail


• Be passionate about hospitality and delivering outstanding guest experiences


• Be commercially aware and understand the importance of controlling costs and maximising sales


• Be flexible and available to work evenings, weekends and busy trading periods
