Assistant Manager – The Arc Cinema Cork

The Arc Cinema Cork is looking for an ambitious, hands\-on Assistant Manager to join our management team and play a key role in the day\-to\-day running and continued success of the cinema.

Working closely with the General Manager, you will help lead and develop our team, drive commercial performance, maintain exceptional operational standards, and ensure every customer receives the high\-quality experience The Arc Cinema is known for.

The Role

As Assistant Manager, you will be a key member of the cinema's management team, supporting the General Manager while working closely with our Duty Managers and wider team.

You will be expected to lead from the front, be visible and hands\-on across the cinema, and help create a culture where our team delivers excellent customer service and strong commercial results.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the General Manager in the overall management and performance of the cinema


• Taking responsibility for the day\-to\-day operation of the cinema in the General Manager's absence


• Leading, coaching and developing the Duty Manager and wider team to deliver consistently high standards


• Working alongside the team across all areas of the cinema, including sales, ushering, cleaning and food \& beverage


• Driving sales, customer service and commercial KPIs, identifying opportunities to improve performance


• Supporting the preparation and implementation of staffing rotas to ensure the business is appropriately resourced


• Monitoring staffing levels, productivity and operational performance


• Ensuring excellent standards of cleanliness, presentation, food safety and HACCP compliance


• Ensuring company cash\-handling procedures are followed and assisting with the investigation of any discrepancies


• Dealing confidently and professionally with customer feedback, queries and complaints


• Supporting the implementation of company policies, procedures and operational standards


• Carrying out regular operational and building checks and ensuring any issues are followed through to resolution


• Supporting staff training, development, coaching and performance management


• Assisting with HR and employee matters, including attendance, performance and disciplinary processes where appropriate


• Supporting local marketing initiatives, promotions and events


• Completing and maintaining relevant daily, weekly and monthly administration and reporting


• Providing the General Manager with feedback, ideas and recommendations to continually improve the cinema


• Acting as a positive ambassador for The Arc Cinema both within the venue and in the wider community

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is ambitious, commercially minded and genuinely enjoys leading people.

You will ideally have:

• Previous management or senior supervisory experience within hospitality, leisure, retail or food \& beverage


• A proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a team


• Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of KPIs


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


• The confidence to make decisions and take ownership


• A hands\-on approach to management – this is not an office\-based role


• Excellent organisational and time\-management skills


• Strong attention to detail and high personal standards


• The ability to remain calm and effective in a busy, fast\-paced environment


• Good IT and Microsoft Office skills


• A genuine commitment to delivering excellent customer experiences


• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and late\-night shifts
