We are a friendly, family‑owned hydraulic engineering company based on the Euroway Estate just off the M606 in Bradford. Established in 1984, we work in partnership with five of the world’s leading hydraulic manufacturers and have built a strong reputation for quality and reliability.
We are looking for an Assistant Hydraulic Test Engineer to join our experienced test team. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer or someone with a strong engineering background who wants to build and develop specialist hydraulic skills.
The Role
Working within our test department, you’ll be involved in a wide variety of testing and hydraulic work. You’ll be expected to work independently or as part of a team, producing high‑quality work to tight tolerances with a *right‑first‑time* attitude.
You will be supported by experienced colleagues and given time to develop, with a clear expectation of working to high standards and tight tolerances.
Key duties include:
- Testing hydraulic pumps, motors and ancillary equipment
- Compiling test certificates and performance graphs
- Working on rotary equipment, gearboxes, pumps, motors and valves
- Fault finding and detailed inspection work
- Working on units from a variety of manufacturers
- Assisting with service work when required
- Reporting to the Test Supervisor / Technical Manager

Ideally, you will have:
- ·NVQ Level 3 mechanical qualification or equivalent
- Qualifications in hydraulic pump, motor, valve and transmission test is desirable but not essential.
- Competent in IT skills and usage of Microsoft programs.
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements when working in the workshop.
- Familiar with the working functions of hydraulic systems/components.
- Ability to understand and follow hydraulic/mechanical drawings and schematics.
- Training courses are available to support skill development and ongoing learning within the role
- 40 hours per week
- Monday to Thursday: 7:00am – 3:30pm
- Friday: 6:00am – 2:30pm (can be flexible)
- 15‑minute paid morning break
- 30‑minute unpaid lunch break
- Competitive pay: £13\.50 – £15\.50 per hour (DOE)
- 23 days holiday plus bank holidays
- Additional 1 day holiday after 5 years’ service
