We are seeking an experienced and passionate Assistant Headteacher to help drive our mission of *Turning Children’s Lives Around*. This is an exciting opportunity to support the Headteacher in leading a nurturing, trauma‑informed specialist school based in Bristol.

About Sky Vale School

Sky Vale School is a specialist setting for children and young people aged 6–18, many of whom have experienced trauma and benefit from a relational, therapeutic approach to education.

About the Role

As Assistant Headteacher, you will play a key role in both the strategic leadership and day\-to\-day management of the school.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the Headteacher in leading the school and driving improvement


• Championing and embedding the school’s vision, values, and trauma\-informed approach


• Leading key whole\-school areas of responsibility, in line with your expertise


• Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver outstanding outcomes for young people


• Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, learning, and staff performance

You will also be part of a wider network of Senior Leaders across Five Rivers’ Ofsted\-registered schools, offering collaboration, support, and shared best practice.

Who We’re Looking For

We are keen to hear from candidates who have:

• A strong interest in SEND and trauma\-informed education


• Leadership experience in a specialist or mainstream school setting


• A genuine passion for improving outcomes for vulnerable children and young people


• The ability to inspire, motivate, and support both staff and pupils

This is full time role covering 37\.5 hours per week, term time inline with the local authority

Job Types: Full\-time, Permanent

Pay: £40,848\.00\-£45,089\.00 per year
