Assistant Greenkeeper
An excellent opportunity has arisen at our continually improving club.
As a part of the team, you will report to and work alongside the Course manager \& Deputy Course manager to assist in the preparation and development of the course. This role would suit an enthusiastic individual who wants to further learn in the sports turf industry.
The role is based on a standard 40 hours per week, with flexible working patterns throughout the year. Weekend and bank holiday availability is required, typically working 1 weekend in 4, done on a rota basis, well in advance.
The successful candidate would ideally have;
- Working towards or already has level 2 in greenkeeping
- 2 years experience on a golf course (desirable)
- PA1, PA2 \& PA6 (desirable )
- Chainsaw licence certified (desirable)
- First aid at work (desirable)
- A sound knowledge of the game of golf would be advantageous
- Apply all fertiliser, supplements, and turf protection products accurately
- A sound understanding of turf maintenance machinery
- Servicing of all machinery
- Course set\-up
- Raking bunkers
- An understanding of turf diseases
- Collection of driving range balls occasionally
- Ability to use their own initiative and experience
- A good understanding of safe working practices

The Manor Golf Club is now 34 years old and is currently making big changes as the club looks to the future and is developing both on and off the course. Significant investment has been made into new machinery and course alterations over the last 5 years with more exciting plans to come. The club has made a start on the 10 year plan set up by management to help improve the course. This role will be great for someone wanting to be involved in project work, including the construction of tees and bunkers, plus the installation drainage and irrigation.
