Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our premium pub team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive pub restaurant and food and drink experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee daily operations, supervise staff, and ensure the highest standards of food safety and hospitality are maintained. The Assistant General Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting the General Manager and driving the success of our establishment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily restaurant or hotel operations, ensuring smooth workflow and excellent service delivery
- Supervise and motivate team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and food production processes to meet quality standards
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and health \& safety policies
- Support staff training programmes, including serving, barista, kitchen, and hospitality skills
- Manage customer relations, handle complaints professionally, and ensure guest satisfaction
- Assist with inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining stock levels
- Contribute to menu planning and development in collaboration with culinary staff
- Support promotional activities and uphold brand standards across all areas of operation
- Proven supervising experience within a restaurant or hospitality environment
- Strong team management skills with the ability to lead by example
- Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices
- Previous experience in restaurant or hotel management is highly desirable
- Knowledge of culinary techniques and kitchen operations
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Leadership qualities combined with a customer\-focused approach
- Experience in serving or barista roles is advantageous but not essential
- A recognised qualification in hospitality management or culinary arts is preferred
Pay: £30,661\.60\-£32,000\.00 per year
