We are looking for an experienced and hands\-on Assistant Front of House Manager to join the management team at Pastures Lodge \& Hotel.

This is a varied operational role within a busy pub, restaurant, events and hotel environment. We are looking for someone who is confident leading a team, delivering excellent customer service and taking responsibility for the operation when the senior manager is not present.

This is not an office\-based management position. You will be expected to be highly visible on the floor, supporting the team during busy services, dealing with customers and making sure the business is running smoothly.

The Role

Working alongside the management team, you will help oversee the day\-to\-day Front of House operation, including:

• Leading and motivating the Front of House team across the bar, restaurant and hotel


• Running busy food and beverage services and ensuring excellent service standards


• Supporting reception and ensuring hotel guests receive a warm and professional experience


• Acting as the manager on duty when required


• Handling customer queries and complaints confidently and professionally


• Ensuring the venue is properly staffed and helping manage rotas and shift cover


• Supervising, training and developing team members


• Setting clear expectations and addressing performance or service issues when required


• Ensuring opening, closing and cash\-handling procedures are completed correctly


• Monitoring stock, wastage and general cost control


• Helping drive sales through upselling, promotions and excellent customer service


• Supporting functions, parties and events held at the venue


• Ensuring the pub, restaurant and public areas are consistently clean, presentable and ready for service


• Maintaining high standards of food safety, health \& safety and licensing compliance


• Completing management checks and ensuring company procedures are followed


• Working closely with the kitchen, reception and other departments to ensure a smooth operation

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous supervisory or management experience within a pub, restaurant, hotel or hospitality environment


• Is confident managing a team and taking responsibility for a shift


• Is comfortable working within a fast\-paced operation


• Has strong customer service skills and can confidently resolve complaints


• Leads from the front and is willing to get involved wherever required


• Has good organisational and communication skills


• Understands the importance of labour control, stock control and reducing unnecessary costs


• Can identify problems and take ownership of finding solutions


• Is reliable, professional and able to remain calm under pressure


• Is flexible with working hours, including evenings and weekends

What We’re Looking For

We want someone who genuinely wants to progress in hospitality management.

You should be comfortable making decisions, taking responsibility and supporting the wider management team rather than waiting to be told what needs doing.

The successful candidate will play an important part in developing the Front of House operation at Pastures and maintaining a welcoming, well\-run venue for both our regular local customers and hotel guests.

Pay: £30,000\.00\-£32,000\.00 per year
