Assistant Early Years Educator

Country Day Nurseries is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Early Years Educator to join our team. Working five days a week (830\-530 pm) across all rooms you will have the opportunity to develop your career in childcare.

You will be part of a friendly, hard working team who create a lovely atmosphere for the children.

We will fund your qualification at no cost to yourselves, whilst you work on the job. An assessor will visit you in the work place which means no travel either!

Your duties will include:

• The preparation and completion of activities to suit the child's age and stage of development.


• To ensure that mealtimes are a time of social interaction


• Washing and changing children as required


• Providing comfort and warmth to an ill child;


• To ensure the Setting continues to be a high quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds, and stages of development;


• To be aware of the high profile of the Setting and to uphold its standards at all times.


• To carry out a range of varied activities suitable to the age range of children, alongside other staff


• To keep an up to date record of planning, next steps and developmental goals on your key children, for parents/carers


• Engage in positive teamwork


• To be involved in extracurricular activities, e.g. training, monthly staff meetings, fundraising events


• To be flexible within working practices of the Setting. Be prepared to help where needed, including to undertake certain domestic jobs within the Setting, e.g. preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment etc.


• Work alongside the Nursery Manager and staff team to ensure that the nursery ethos is implemented and fulfilled


• Look upon the Setting as a “whole” where can your help be most utilised, be constantly aware of the needs of children
