We are seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Coffee Shop Manager to join our dynamic team at Ori Caffe within the John Lewis Store Centre MK. Responsibilities

• Assist the Coffee Shop Manager in overseeing daily shop operations to ensure smooth and efficient service


• Supervise and support team members, including baristas and kitchen staff, fostering a positive working environment


• Manage food preparation and ensure high standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained at all times


• Lead by example in serving customers with professionalism and friendliness, enhancing the overall customer experience


• Coordinate with suppliers for stock replenishment and manage inventory levels effectively


• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all areas of the shop


• Support in training new staff members and conducting ongoing training sessions for existing team members


• Assist in planning promotional activities and special events to boost sales and customer engagement

Skills

• Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within a café or restaurant setting


• Previous supervising or team management experience in hospitality or similar environments


• Strong knowledge of food safety standards and food production processes


• Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire team members


• Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently


• Customer\-focused approach with outstanding communication skills in British English


• Experience as a barista or in hospitality roles such as serving or hotel work is highly desirable


• Familiarity with kitchen operations, food presentation, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
