About the role:
Hill Park School is a three site (Primary/ Secondary) special school for pupils aged 4 \- 16 years for pupils with needs ranging from moderate (MLD), severe (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD). Some pupils also have a diagnosis of autistic spectrum condition (ASC), complex medical needs or physical disabilities.
We are looking to appoint an Assistant Caretaker to join our Premises Team to work at our Secondary site in Portslade.
The hours of work are 37 hours per week (Monday – Thursday 11am\-7pm \& Friday 11am – 6\.30pm)
The ideal candidate will be flexible, proactive, able to work well within an established team, able to assist with premises issues and have a working knowledge of health and safety requirements. Duties will include assisting with the cleanliness, security and maintenance of the site and the school minibus. The successful applicant will have some knowledge of building maintenance eg plumbing, carpentry, basic electrics together with general DIY skills for repairs and maintenance. A full, clean driving licence with D1 entitlement is desirable. Willingness to be flexible with your hours as and when required will be advantageous.
The sites of Hill Park School are very busy and this is a varied role and will involve daily interaction with the pupils.
