Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Bar Manager to support the daily operations of our vibrant hospitality venue. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for excellent service, and a solid background in food and beverage management. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team, ensuring exceptional customer experiences while maintaining high standards of food safety and service quality. The Assistant Bar Manager will play a key role in supervising staff, managing bar operations, and assisting with organisational tasks to uphold the venue’s reputation for excellence.

Duties

  • Assist in overseeing daily bar operations, ensuring smooth service delivery during shifts

  • Supervise and support bar staff, including training and motivating team members to deliver outstanding customer service

  • Coordinate food preparation and ensure compliance with food safety standards

  • Manage stock levels, order supplies, and oversee food production processes

  • Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to within the bar and kitchen areas

  • Assist in supervising the organisation of events and special functions hosted at the venue

  • Support in developing menus, including beverage offerings and light food options such as snacks or small plates

  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area in accordance with hygiene standards

  • Handle customer enquiries or complaints professionally, ensuring guest satisfaction at all times

  • Collaborate with the management team to implement policies that enhance operational efficiency
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in restaurant or hospitality environments, ideally with supervisory or team management responsibilities

  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking, and food safety procedures

  • Previous experience working in bars, restaurants, hotels or similar establishments; barista experience is advantageous

  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and supervise staff effectively

  • Sound understanding of food production processes and culinary practices

  • Experience in serving guests with professionalism and hospitality expertise

  • Organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure

  • Knowledge of health \& safety regulations relevant to food service environments

  • Ability to work flexibly across various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required
