The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll support the delivery of accurate financial reporting, strong balance-sheet control and effective divisional performance management. You'll work with colleagues across finance, shared services and the senior leadership team to ensure the division meets its reporting timetable and maintains high standards of financial governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial compliance - Work in line with group values, policies and financial controls.
- Month-end delivery - Support the finance team in meeting all reporting deadlines and timetable commitments.
- Overhead management - Take ownership of overhead cost coding, accuracy and allocation.
- Balance sheet reconciliations - Prepare and manage reconciliations, contributing to the group balance sheet submission and review process.
- Forecasting support - Assist with producing accurate forecasts, budgets and performance plans.
- Sustainability reporting - Coordinate quarterly and annual sustainability data submissions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Shared service liaison - Act as a point of contact for the finance shared service centre, resolving queries and ensuring smooth processes.
- Board reporting
- Experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role
- Strong attention to detail and confidence working with financial data
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both finance and operational teams
- Progression toward a professional qualification (AAT/ACCA/CIMA) is welcomed but not essential
