Area Manager - Wraparound Childcare
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Area Manager to oversee and manage Camp Glide’s wraparound childcare settings in Central London. The Area Manager will oversee and support our London settings, ensuring operational excellence across all provisions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring high standards of care, compliance with regulatory requirements, and fostering a positive environment for children and staff alike. This role offers an opportunity to lead a committed team within a dynamic and supportive organisation dedicated to child development and wellbeing.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the day\-to\-day operations of our wraparound settings, ensuring consistency and high quality care across all schools, implementing improvements where necessary.
- Lead, support, and develop onsite Setting Managers and playworker teams, ensuring they are motivated, skilled, and supported.
- Experience managing multiple sites, settings, or teams simultaneously.
- Addressing and resolving any operational or staff issues promptly and effectively.
- Ensuring compliance to EYFS and OFSTED regulations.
- Management and scheduling of staffing and assisting setting managers in resourcing, providing essential cover when needed.
- Ensuring all clubs adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, including safeguarding and health and safety.
- Building strong, collaborative relationships with school leadership, staff, and families, acting as the key link between settings and the wider company.
- Proactively identifying and developing relationships with prospective schools and key stakeholders to support the growth of Camp Glide’s wraparound and holiday club provision.
- A regular presence in setting, conducting quality assurance visits across settings, monitoring standards and supporting continuous improvement.
You’ll bring:
- Proven experience in an (area) management role, ideally within the childcare or education sector.
- Strong management and people skills with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively.
- The capacity and organisational abilities to plan ahead, anticipate potential difficulties and establish a course of action.
- Reliability and flexibility.
- Effective communication skills to be able to inform, persuade, inspire and motivate children and staff and provide feedback for professionals and parents.
- A relevant childcare qualification (preferred).
- An understanding of the range of needs which children and their families may have, including SEND
- A commitment to high\-quality care, with a strong knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety, EYFS framework and other childcare regulations.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a fast\-paced environment.
- A passion for working with children
- Camp Glide is an OFSTED registered wrap\-around childcare provider with successful breakfast, afterschool and holiday club provisions across London and the Surrey, and Sussex areas.
- Camp Glide is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS disclosure and other pre\-employment checks will be carried out with relevance to legislation.
This is a full\-time position of up to 40 hours per week, working across both term\-time and school holiday periods. Due to the nature of the role, some hours will need to be worked during afterschool, and holiday club operating times to provide onsite support and oversight. Outside of these core hours, there is flexibility to self\-manage your schedule to meet the needs of the role.
Pay Range £32,500 \- £43,500 per annum (Dependant on experience)
