Area Manager
We have an excellent career opportunity for an Area Manager to join our dedicated leadership team here at Calm Futures, supporting both our Residential and Supported Living services in Hoddesdon.
Role highlights:
- A lead Operator responsible for a team of Registered Managers within a geographical area of operation.
- To ensure all aspects of the services meet with the Health \& Social Care Act 2008, The Care Act 2014 and the requirements of CQC, together with all other relative legislative requirements.
- To provide a need led service to adults with learning disability by adopting a person\-centred approach that fosters self\-awareness, personal growth and gives each person the strongest voice with regards to decision making and lifestyle choices.
- To be a role model leader to the team of Registered managers by demonstrating trust, honesty and integrity.
Hours per week: Full\-time, 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities
- Coach lead \& develop a high performing and engaged team.
- Ensure that all services across your area of responsibility are operating in alignment with company standards, policies and procedures to provide the highest standards of support
- Provide regular supervision and annual appraisal to Managers in line with Company procedures and standards.
- Foster a culture of continuous quality improvements and assurance across all services within your responsibility whilst embedding a framework that encourages ownership and accountability and promotes innovation and problem solving.
- Ensure a range of meetings are taking place within the services, including Managers meetings / Team Leader meetings / Support Worker and service user meetings
- To identify recruitment requirements for your services and work with the HR Team to ensure that all recruitment and retention of staff falls within the core values set out by the organisation.
- Develop an annual performance objectives service plan for your area identifying key objectives for the year and how these will be measured.
- Support people management and employee relations activities by leading on and assisting in investigations and chairing formal meetings as required, following company policy and statutory requirements.
- Take part in the senior on call system including business contingency planning.
- Ensure staff adhere to the GCSS Codes of Practice and rules, policies and procedures contained in the Staff Handbook
- NVQ 4 – Health \& Social Care or NVQ 4 – Leadership \& Management or Diploma 5 – Health and Social Care
- 2 years’ experience of managing services in a residential or supported living environment · Financial planning/P\&L
- 4 years recent and significant experience of working with adults with Learning disabilities.
- Working in partnership with other professionals · e.g. health, local authority, CQC
- Experience with leading and chairing management disciplinary investigation meetings
- Working with business systems and processes
- Experience of managing an effective team at management levels
- Track record of managing a budget
- Experience of specific conditions e.g. epilepsy, autism
- Experience of delivering training and mentoring staff CV/Application
- Ability to lead and inspire staff at all levels
- Ability to deal with crisis and complex issues, identifying solutions and timely outcomes.
