Location: Home\-based with regular travel across the East Riding of Yorkshire

Contract Type: Part\-time \| Fixed\-term contract (2 years)

Hours: 18\.75 hours per week \| Wednesday afternoon, Thursday and Friday (full day)

Salary: £47,933 pro rata

At Anchor, we’re passionate about providing high\-quality housing and support to older people across the country. We're looking for an inspiring and proactive Area Manager to join our team and make a real difference in the lives of our residents.

About the Role

As a Housing Area Manager, you will lead, develop, and support a housing team across a designated geographical area, ensuring exceptional operational delivery and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations across multiple sites, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and high service standards.

  • Lead and coach teams to deliver strong performance aligned with our values and housing strategy.

  • Foster excellent resident relationships, resolving issues effectively and driving satisfaction.

  • Conduct safety audits, manage risk, and respond to emergencies with professionalism.

  • Manage budgets and resources to achieve financial targets and goals.

  • Develop and maintain effective partnerships with contractors, local authorities and community organisations to enhance service delivery.

  • Monitor KPIs and performance, reporting regularly to the Operations Manager.

  • Oversee contracts such as catering, cleaning, and care/support services, ensuring they meet resident needs.

You'll bring:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience coaching and developing high\-performing teams.

  • Agility in decision\-making and a problem\-solving mindset.

  • Experience managing teams, with a focus on development and high performance.

  • A flexible, resilient approach—comfortable working independently and collaboratively.

  • Confidence managing sensitive information and engaging with diverse stakeholders.

  • Excellent organisational and time\-management abilities.

  • Competence with Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn new systems.
Qualifications \& Requirements

Full UK driving licence and access to a car, or ability to travel efficiently across your area by other means.

Willingness to undertake regular training and attend external meetings/events.

Successful candidates will be required to complete a Basic DBS check.
