Location: Bristol, with travel to sites across the South West and occasionally further afield
Job type: Full\-time apprenticeship
Pay: Competitive apprenticeship wage, dependent on age and experience
Westech Flooring is looking for a reliable and hardworking apprentice floor layer to join our small, experienced commercial flooring team.
This is a hands\-on role offering the opportunity to learn a skilled trade while working on a wide range of commercial projects, including offices, schools, care homes, gyms and public buildings.
What you’ll learn:
- Preparing floors ready for installation
- Installing carpet tiles, vinyl, LVT and other commercial floor coverings
- Applying latex smoothing compounds
- Plywood preparation and installation
- Cap and cove vinyl work
- Using flooring tools, adhesives and equipment safely
- Reading plans, measuring areas and calculating materials
- Working safely and professionally on live construction sites
- A positive attitude and genuine willingness to learn
- Reliable, punctual and prepared for early starts
- Physically fit and comfortable with practical work
- Able to follow instructions and work as part of a small team
- Polite and professional when working around clients and other trades
- Willing to travel to different sites
- A driving licence would be helpful but is not essential
- Previous construction or flooring experience is not required
