<p><strong>Overview</strong></p>
<p>RTW Investments is seeking an Accounting & AP Operations Specialist to join its Firm Services team. This is a unique opportunity to own the day-to-day accounting operations of a world-class global life sciences investment firm, serving as the internal hub for all accounts payable, expense management, and financial reporting activities. The role is flexible and can be structured at a range of seniority levels from a highly organized AP and expense specialist to a more seasoned accounting professional who can take on broader ManCo financial responsibilities over time.</p>
<p>This person will serve as the primary internal point of contact with RTW’s outsourced AP provider, ensuring smooth execution of all payables and compliance with firm processes and controls. At its core, this role is about ownership: the person in this seat runs their own function and treats every RTW colleague as a valued client.</p>

<p><strong><br>Key Responsibilities </strong></p>
<p><strong>Accounts Payable & Expense Management</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Oversee all day-to-day AP activity, including invoice processing, payment approvals, and vendor management, in coordination with outsourced AP service provider</li>
<li>Oversee employee expense reimbursements and the American Express corporate card, ensuring timely and accurate processing, in coordination with the outsourced AP service provider; remain onsite point of resolution as needed</li>
<li>Act as intermediary for all AP and expense submissions, enforcing firm policies and flagging exceptions</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Outsourced Provider Oversight</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Maintain a strong working relationship with the outsourced AP team, serving as the internal liaison to ensure quality, timeliness, and alignment with RTW processes and controls</li>
<li>Identify and escalate issues, drive process improvements, and help define how the outsourced relationship evolves as the firm grows</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Financial Reporting & Controls (if hired at a senior level)</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Support monthly financial close processes, including account reconciliations and management company financial statements</li>
<li>Assist with budgeting, variance analysis, and management reporting as needed</li>
<li>Help design and enforce internal controls and financial policies as the firm scales</li>
<li>Represent RTW in key vendor and counterparty relationships with appropriate professionalism and authority</li>

<p><strong>Qualifications and Skills</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required</li>
<li>3–7+ years of relevant accounting or AP operations experience; financial services or investment management exposure is a plus</li>
<li>Hands-on Concur experience strongly preferred, prior system setup or administration experience</li>
<li>Strong understanding of AP processes, expense management, and internal controls</li>
<li>For more senior candidates: familiarity with management company accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting</li>
<li>CPA or progress toward CPA/CFA a plus for more senior hires; not required at the AP specialist level</li>
<li>Detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment</li>
<li>Exceptional interpersonal skills; able to build trust across all levels of the firm</li>
<li>Low ego, high ownership</li>
<li>Must be able to work from our New York City office 4–5 days per week</li>
</ul>
<p><br>The base salary for this New York-based position ranges from $130,000 - $200,000 depending on experience, skills, and responsibilities. Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and the level at which the role is hired. In addition to the base salary, the role includes a discretionary incentive compensation program, and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical and life insurance, retirement plans, tax-free savings options, and access to additional healthcare programs.</p>
