Air Conditioning Engineer - Maintenance
About Debonair Cooling
We're London's premium Daikin air conditioning specialist. Our clients live in homes worth £1M\+ and they expect the same standard of service from us as they do from their architect, their interior designer and their kitchen fitter. Our engineers don't just service systems — they work in some of the most beautiful homes in the country and leave them better than they found them.
The Role
You'll be the engineer our clients see most often. Annual services, F\-Gas inspections, filter changes, performance checks and minor adjustments across our entire client base — keeping every system we've ever fitted running at its best.
This is the relationship role. The same clients see you year after year — and the experience you give them is what turns a one\-off install into a customer for life (and a steady stream of referrals). It's methodical, customer\-facing work for the engineer who takes pride in finishing every job to the same standard, whether it's their first visit of the day or their fifth.
A typical week
- 4–6 planned service visits per day across London
- F\-Gas refrigerant inspections and leak checks
- Filter replacements, coil cleans, condenser checks, performance optimisation
- Logging detailed service reports, photos and certificates via Jobber
- Writing clear recommendations for the office to follow up on (parts orders, repair quotes, system upgrades)
- Direct contact with clients on site — answering questions, explaining their system, flagging anything they need to know
- Occasional support to the senior repair engineer on more complex jobs
- F\-Gas Category 1 certification
- 2\+ years' experience servicing residential or commercial AC systems
- Solid working knowledge of multi\-split / VRV systems (Daikin preferred)
- Methodical, organised approach — clients should feel cared for, not rushed
- Strong customer manner — you're the recurring face of the brand
- Clean UK driving licence
- Right to work in the UK
- Reliable, presentable and consistent — these clients are paying for service that matches their home
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 refrigeration / air conditioning
- 18th Edition electrical qualification
- Daikin product training certificates
- Experience with maintenance plan / annual contract work
- Familiarity with Jobber or similar field service software
- Fully\-equipped Mercedes Vito company van
- Fuel card, phone, tools and uniform provided
- 28 days holiday (including bank holidays)
- Workplace pension
- Ongoing Daikin training and certification — fully funded by us
- A clear, recurring schedule — less last\-minute chaos than reactive repair work
- Clear progression to Senior Repair Engineer / Service Lead as the maintenance book grows
- A team that actually invests in its engineers — small enough that you matter, big enough to back you
We're a tight team that holds itself to a high bar. We turn up properly dressed, we treat clients' homes like they matter, and we don't cut corners. The maintenance engineer we hire owns the relationship with hundreds of clients — you'll be the most visible face of Debonair, and we'll back you with the support to do it properly.
