AI Engineer
Your role

To support our ongoing digital transformation journey, Power Tools Distribution is looking for an AI Engineer to play a pivotal role in identifying, coordinating, and implementing AI\-driven solutions across our Distribution Center.
The successful candidate will work closely with all departments to identify opportunities where Artificial Intelligence can improve speed, efficiency, accuracy, cost, and decision\-making.
As both a technical expert and a business partner, you will bridge the gap between technology and operations, translating complex operational challenges into scalable, value\-driven AI solutions. You will drive the adoption of AI technologies, ensure successful implementation, and help shape the future of our data\-driven organization.
Key Responsibilities
AI Strategy \& Initiatives
- Identify, propose, and prioritize AI and automation opportunities across DC processes
- Coordinate and support AI startup initiatives and pilot projects within different departments.
- Translating business needs into AI use cases with clear value, KPIs, and efficiency gains.
- Design, develop, test, and deploy AI / machine learning models to improve operational performance.
- Implement AI solutions focused on speed, efficiency and quality throughout the entire DC
- Integrate AI solutions with existing IT systems, data platforms, and dashboards.
- Work closely with all DC teams to understand processes end‑to‑end and ensure solutions are practical and scalable.
- Act as AI point of contact
- Support change management by explaining AI concepts in a clear, accessible way to non‑technical stakeholders and help our people in the journey to reach our full potential
- Ensure data quality, availability, and proper usage for AI applications.
- Monitor model performance, retrain models when needed, and continuously improve solutions.
- Document solutions, standards, and best practices to support long‑term scalability.
- You also define and roll out standards and governance for AI\-assisted work, ensuring alignment with security, compliance, and data policies within the Atlas Copco Group

Education
- Master’s degree in:
- + Artificial Intelligence
+ Computer Science
+ Engineering (Industrial, Electrical, Software, or similar)
Experience
- Nice to have a first experience with AI / machine learning implementation in an industrial, logistics, or operational environment is a strong plus.
- Experience working in or with distribution centers, manufacturing, or supply chain is an advantage.
- Experience coordinating projects across multiple departments is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of machine learning, data analytics, and AI concepts.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python (preferred).
- Familiarity with data pipelines, databases, and visualization tools (e.g. Power BI is a plus).
- Experience with cloud platforms or industrial AI tools is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset.
- Ability to identify business challenges and opportunities, and translate them into scalable AI solutions with measurable business impact
- Proactive, structured, and able to work independently
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Hands‑on mentality with a continuous improvement mindset.
