AI & Data Applications Developer
We are seeking an AI and Data Applications Developer to be embedded with our customer, working on the design and delivery of AI\-enabled business applications and data solutions. You will work alongside the AI Technical Lead and development team to build and maintain both AI applications and the data structures that underpin them, taking joint ownership of the data foundations that support evolving AI architecture. This is a hands\-on technical role where you will translate business requirements into practical solutions while contributing to the ongoing development of AI systems and data infrastructure.
*Please note: this role operates on a hybrid model, with 3 days per week in our customer's Dublin office.*
Required Experience:
- 3\+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong SQL and relational database design skills
- Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server or similar enterprise databases
- Experience developing APIs and system integrations
- Experience with Python or equivalent modern development languages
- Understanding of data modelling and application data structures
- Experience working with Azure or similar cloud platforms
- Proficiency with Git and modern software delivery practices
- Design, build and support AI\-enabled business applications embedded within the customer's operations
- Develop and maintain integrations between AI platforms, business systems and databases
- Support the delivery of AI agents, AI workflows and AI\-assisted business processes working with the customer's teams
- Contribute to the ongoing development of AI architecture in partnership with the customer's stakeholders
- Lead the day\-to\-day management and continuous improvement of application databases and data stores, ensuring they effectively support AI systems
- Work with the AI Technical Lead and AI Architect to define application data models, integration standards and database structures
- Ensure data structures are scalable, maintainable and aligned with the customer's future application requirements
- Support the implementation of data governance, security and data quality controls across the customer's systems
- Assist with the design and operation of data ingestion, transformation and integration processes
- Work with developers and architects to implement scalable and maintainable solutions
- Contribute to technical design documentation, standards and development practices
- Support application deployment, testing, monitoring and optimisation activities
- Participate in code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist in promoting best practices in AI\-enabled development and data management across the wider customer team
- Share knowledge and support the growth of AI capabilities within the customer's organisation
- Experience designing relational database schemas and application data models
- Experience developing AI\-enabled applications
- Knowledge of RAG architectures, vector databases and AI orchestration concepts
- Experience with Azure AI Foundry, Power Platform or Dataverse
- Understanding of data lifecycle management, governance and security principles
- Ability to translate business requirements into practical data structures and technical solutions
