Agricultural / Construction Service Engineer

Ramsay \& Jackson are one of Ayrshire’s leading suppliers of agricultural, construction, and groundcare equipment. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a skilled and motivated time\-served Agricultural / Construction Engineer to join our busy and dynamic team.

The Role
Reporting directly to the Service Manager, the successful candidate will work closely with all departments to deliver a high standard of service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled maintenance, servicing, and repairs on agricultural and construction equipment, both on\-site and within our workshop


• Diagnose faults across hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems


• Complete pre\-delivery inspections (PDI) on new machinery


• Provide customers with professional service advice and support


• Maintain company vehicle to a high standard


• Ensure service records and job cards are completed accurately and in a timely manner

• Relevant engineering qualification or a minimum of 4 years’ experience within an engineering role


• Previous experience in agricultural and/or construction engineering (preferred but not essential, as manufacturer training will be provided)


• Full UK driving licence (essential)


• Strong organisational, communication, and time management skills


• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team


• Flexible approach to working hours during busy periods

• Full\-time, permanent position


• Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 16:30


• Occasional weekend work required (paid at overtime rate)


• On\-call rota: 1 weekend in 8 (paid with shift allowance and overtime rates)
