Hours - Monday - Thursday 6.00am - 14.06, Friday 6.00am - 13.06 / Monday - Thursday , Friday
We are looking for experienced and highly skilled Bakery Operatives to join our team at Carlton Bakery. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in food manufacturing who are ready to take ownership within a highly automated, fast-paced production environment and play a key role in driving performance and continuous improvement.
About the Role As an Advanced Bakery Operative, you will take full ownership of your production area, operating and optimising advanced machinery to deliver consistent quality, efficiency and safety standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Operating and setting production machinery in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to achieve optimal performance
- Leading by example in adhering to Health, Safety & Environmental (HS&E) and Food Safety standards
- Proactively identifying faults, inefficiencies and quality issues, working closely with Engineering to resolve root causes and implement improvements
- Carrying out and embedding Clean, Inspect and Lubricate (CIL) practices to maximise equipment reliability and uptime
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance line performance, reduce waste and improve quality
- Ensuring your area is consistently audit-ready, meeting internal and external compliance standards
- Taking accountability for achieving production targets while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards
- Demonstrating flexibility and leadership to meet changing production demands
- Proven experience in a bakery or food manufacturing environment, ideally within automated production
- Strong technical understanding of machine operation, troubleshooting and process control
- A good working knowledge of food safety, hygiene and compliance standards
- Confident numeracy, literacy and IT skills to support production systems and reporting
- A proactive, solution-focused mindset with the ability to drive improvements
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to influence and support others on shift
