QUALIFICATIONS

Essential Criteria:\-

Be registered on the general division of the register of nurses maintained by NMBI

Have 5years post registration experience in an acute setting

Have a minimum of 2 years management experience at CNMIII or above

Have completed a management training programme

Have proven clinical and professional ability

Have good IT skills with proficiency in the use of all relevant applications.

• Have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work on his/her own initiative.


• Have exceptional communication \& leadership skills with the ability to positively engage with patients and staff.


• Be enthusiastic and highly motivated.


• Have a proven ability to work under pressure.


• Have an ability to deal with staff at all levels within the organization.

Knowledge of accreditation process and other national quality initiatives.

• Competency in the English language is a requirement for the post.

Desirable Criteria:\-

• Qualification to Degree level or higher within the speciality


• The ability to analyse, report on and effect change in nursing practice.


• A sound knowledge of procedures and protocols in operational matters.


• Evidence of post registration professional development.


• The ability to anticipate trends, identifies opportunities and forward plans for service developments.


• Knowledge of clinical risk management from investigation to reporting and documentation of adverse incidents.
