Job summary
An opportunity has become available for a full\-time Band 2 Support Typist/Administrator to join the busy Stroke and Neurology Departments at Yeovil District Hospital. This is initially a fixed\-term role for six months, with the possibility of extension.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong audio typing ability and a working knowledge of Microsoft Word are essential. While an understanding of medical terminology would be advantageous, comprehensive training will be provided.

Main duties, tasks \& skills required
The Support Typist/Administrator will provide efficient and effective administrative support to the Medical Secretaries. This includes offering cross\-cover for other Support Typists/Administrators and Medical Secretaries within the Business Unit, ensuring continuity of support to clinical teams during periods of absence, as directed by the Senior Operational Manager / Operational Support Manager to meet service needs.
Key responsibilities include typing clinic correspondence using the digital dictation system (EPRO), sorting and distributing post, filing, and undertaking general administrative duties as required.
The post holder will also be expected to work flexibly across the Directorate and support a range of specialties when needed.
