Additional Support Team Charge Nurse
Applications are invited for the full\-time position of Community Learning Disability Charge Nurse in the Learning Disability Additional Support Team (AST) based at the Red Lodge, Larbert.
The Additional Support Team are recruiting a full\-time, highly motivated and experienced Band 6 registered nurse who holds a NMC pin. Experience in forensic issues and crisis intervention would be advantageous. Knowledge of Mental health, Autism and a trauma informed approach is also highly desirable to the post. Training or a commitment to undergo training in a recognised psychological intervention, forensic and crisis interventions are required.
Each post\-holder will be accountable to the Learning Disability AST Team Lead.
The additional support team provides expert supplementary support to existing community learning disability teams across both partnerships for individuals who display severe and or enduring challenging behaviour, autistic spectrum disorder, mental illness and offending behaviour.
The post holders will work in partnership to promote care planning and risk management for people with Learning Disabilities who may offend, enabling inclusion and choice, independence and rights within legal frameworks. They will carry a caseload both within the forensic and crisis specialities within the Additional Support Team.
Case load management, acting as an autonomous practitioner, with ability to work across teams and services are skills essential to this post. Evidence of experience and/or professional development in leadership and collaborative working is also desirable. Knowledge of policy trends and legislation within learning disabilities health and social care required.
IT skills and ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
Registered as a Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD) on the UK NMC is essential for this post.

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full\-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro\-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
