Assistant Credit Controller

North Wales (St Asaph area)

Full-time – 37.5 hours per week

About the business

We’re a well-established, growing UK-based business with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality services to customers nationwide. Over the past few years, we’ve expanded significantly and now support a large and diverse customer base across the UK.

Despite our growth, we’ve kept a friendly, down-to-earth culture where people support each other and work collaboratively to get things done.

The role

We’re looking for an organised and confident Assistant Credit Controller to join our finance team.

This is a great opportunity if you enjoy speaking with people, keeping things accurate, and playing a key part in helping a business run smoothly. You’ll support the Credit Control function by making sure customer accounts are up to date and payments are received on time.

You’ll be trusted with sensitive information, so discretion and professionalism are key—but you’ll also be part of a supportive team who’ll help you settle in and develop your skills.

What you’ll be doing

  • Keeping an eye on outstanding debt and helping manage the aged debt report

  • Chasing overdue invoices by phone, email, and letter (always professionally)

  • Logging customer conversations and updating account notes

  • Allocating incoming payments and helping reconcile accounts

  • Supporting with customer queries and resolving any issues quickly

  • Sending out statements and reminders

  • Flagging any high-risk or overdue accounts to senior team members

  • Assisting with automated bulk chasing processes

  • Providing general admin support to the wider finance team

What we’re looking for
  • Strong communication skills – you’re comfortable speaking with customers

  • Good attention to detail and accuracy when handling data

  • Basic understanding of accounts or finance (helpful but not essential)

  • Confident using spreadsheets and office software

  • Good numeracy and the ability to process information quickly

  • A team player who can also manage their own workload

  • Organised, methodical, and able to meet deadlines

  • Proactive and willing to take initiative

  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a busy environment

Why apply?
  • Be part of a growing business with real momentum

  • Supportive team environment where your work is valued

  • Opportunity to develop your finance and credit control experience

  • Varied role with lots of interaction across the business
