Accounts Payable Manager

Macildowie are working with a well respected client based in South Leicester to recruit an Accounts Payable Manager.

This is a permanent opportunity offering a salary of up to £55,000. The role is fully office-based and sits within a fast-paced, operational environment where strong leadership and a hands-on approach are essential.

You will take ownership of a busy Accounts Payable function, ensuring stability, efficiency and continuous improvement across the team. This role requires someone who can lead from the front, drive performance and embed robust processes and controls.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead, develop and manage the Accounts Payable team


• Oversee day-to-day AP operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency


• Manage and reduce backlogs where required


• Implement and monitor KPIs and SLAs to drive team performance


• Strengthen financial controls and governance within AP


• Handle supplier queries and escalations effectively


• Identify and deliver process improvements, including automation opportunities


• Oversee month-end Accounts Payable processes

The successful candidate will be an experienced Accounts Payable professional with a strong operational background and proven team management experience. You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to drive improvements while maintaining high standards.
