The Role
Based at a well-established business in Welwyn Garden City, this Accounts Assistant role sits within a busy finance team and covers both sales ledger and bookkeeping functions. Key duties include:
- Raising and processing invoices onto the finance system
- Bank reconciliations across multiple entities
- Cashbook and general ledger entries and journals
- Analysing and reconciling card and fuel statements
- Processing employee expense and mileage claims
- General accounts administration and filing
This role is ideally suited to an AAT student, part-qualified accountant or recent finance graduate. You will need:
- Currently studying AAT (Level 2, 3 or 4) or a recent graduate with a finance, accounting or business-related degree
- A genuine interest in pursuing a career in finance or accounting
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines
- A collaborative, team-player attitude and willingness to support across a range of tasks
- Previous experience in an accounts, finance or bookkeeping role is advantageous but not essential — full training will be provided
