The Opportunity We are currently seeking an Accounts Assistant to join a growing finance team based in Birmingham on an initial 6-month contract. This role offers a hybrid working pattern, with 4 days per week in the office and 1 day from home.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong transactional finance experience looking to join a fast-paced environment and make an immediate impact.
Key Responsibilities • Processing purchase invoices and ensuring accurate coding
- Assisting with sales ledger activities, including invoicing and credit control
- Performing bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
- Supporting month-end processes, including journal entries and accruals
- Managing supplier queries and maintaining positive relationships
- Assisting with payment runs
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Providing general administrative support to the finance team
- Strong understanding of accounts payable and receivable processes
- Confident using Excel and accounting systems (e.g. Sage, Xero, SAP or similar)
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills
- Hybrid working (4 days in office, 1 from home)
