We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing care provider seeking a skilled Accounts Manager / Senior Accounts Assistant to join their friendly head office team. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys managing the full accounts function and wants to play a key role in supporting multiple care home sites across Yorkshire.
This is a hands-on position offering real variety, autonomy, and the chance to become a valued member of a close-knit team where your contribution genuinely matters.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day finance function while supporting the production of management accounts and business reporting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Daily bank reconciliations
- Cash flow forecasting and monitoring
- Sales ledger, invoicing, credit control and account reconciliations
- Purchase ledger processing and supplier statement reconciliations
- BACS payment preparation and processing
- Payroll administration and processing
- Managing employee-related payroll matters including sickness, holidays, overtime, expenses, SMP/SPP and statutory payments
- Administration of workplace pension schemes
- Producing weekly reports for directors
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts and KPI reporting
- Handling customer and supplier queries
- Supporting the wider business with ad hoc administrative and finance duties
We're looking for a proactive and detail-focused finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and taking ownership of their workload.
You'll ideally have:
- AAT qualification (or equivalent experience)
- At least 3 years' experience within an accounts role
- Previous experience using Sage 50 and Sage Payroll
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Experience working up to management accounts level
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to work independently and as part of a small, supportive team
- A positive and professional approach with strong communication skills
- Salary of £30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience
- Full-time, permanent position
