Reed Accountancy is delighted to be partnering with a highly successful and well-established construction and maintenance business in North Lanarkshire to recruit an Accounts Assistant.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing SME where you will play a pivotal role in supporting the finance function.
Reporting to the Head of Accounts, you will take ownership of day-to-day transactional finance duties while also contributing to month-end processes, gaining valuable exposure within a dynamic environment.
The key responsibilities of the role will be:
- Processing high volumes of purchase invoices accurately and efficiently
- Raising and issuing sales invoices to clients
- Managing company expenses and ensuring correct allocation and credit card reconciliations
- Performing supplier reconciliations and reviewing supplier statements
- Assisting with bank reconciliations
- Assisting in the organisation and execution of payment runs
- Supporting the Head of Accounts with month-end activities
- Maintaining accurate financial records using Xero software
- Proven experience in a transactional accounts role (e.g. Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Purchase Ledger)
- Working knowledge of accounting software packages
- Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
- A proactive, hard-working approach with the ability to manage workload effectively
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
