Account Director

Walker and Sloan are proud to be working with a Digital Marketing Agency in Birmingham as they are keen to bring on a Account Director to the client services team on a full time basis.

Salary: Up to £50k DOE

Hybrid - 4 days a week in HQ

Looking for an experienced Account Director We’re looking for an experienced Account Director to join our dynamic, growing team in Birmingham. (We would also consider an experienced Senior Account Manager, looking to progress in their career).

Let’s get straight to it….

The ideal candidate will have:

• 7+ years of experience working in a marketing agency environment, with at least 2 years in a senior leadership or account leadership role


• A strong background in B2B marketing, with hands-on experience working with SMEs and owner-managers


• Proven ability to lead and develop integrated marketing strategies across the full marketing mix


• Experience managing and mentoring team members, with a clear ability to get the best out of the people around you


• A commercially minded approach, with a genuine understanding of ROI and what good marketing outcomes look like for a business


• Solid knowledge of inbound marketing principles and HubSpot (a significant advantage)


• Confident presentation and communication skills, with experience presenting strategy at a senior or board level


• The ability to manage multiple client accounts without dropping the ball on quality or delivery

Responsibilities will include:

• Reporting directly to the Directors of Catalyst and playing an active role in shaping agency direction


• Maintaining strong relationships across your client portfolio, supporting account managers as the primary day-to-day contact while stepping in at a senior level where needed


• Leading the development and implementation of integrated marketing strategies tailored to each client’s commercial goals


• Overseeing the delivery of campaigns across your accounts, ensuring quality, timelines and performance targets are met


• Managing and mentoring a team of account managers and marketing executives, supporting their development and holding high standards


• Presenting strategies, performance reports and recommendations to clients with clarity and confidence


• Identifying opportunities for account growth and contributing to new business activity where relevant
