We are looking for an experienced 3rd Engineer (3/E) to serve on a container vessel trading worldwide. You will be part of the engine team, helping to keep all machinery running safely and efficiently throughout the voyage.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with safe and efficient operation of main engine and auxiliary machinery
- Carry out routine watchkeeping duties in the engine room
- Perform planned maintenance, troubleshooting and minor repairs on engine room equipment
- Monitor fuel, lube oil, fresh water and other consumables
- Ensure all work is done in line with company procedures and safety standards
- Assist with bunkering and other engine room operations as required
- Keep engine room logs and records up to date
Requirements
- Valid 3rd Engineer (III/1 or higher) license for seagoing vessels
- Previous experience as 3/E on container or similar ocean\-going vessels preferred
- Located in Europe
- Valid STCW certificates and seafarer medical fitness
- Good English communication skills
- Strong safety awareness and ability to work well in a multinational crew
