The Role

As a Second Line IT Technician at our Managed Service Provider (MSP), you'll play a crucial role in providing technical support and solutions to our clients. Your responsibilities will include but limited to:

\- Investigating and resolving complex IT issues that couldn't be resolved by the first line support team. This may involve troubleshooting hardware and software problems, network issues, and system failures.

\- Implementing solutions: Working closely with our clients to implement effective solutions to their IT challenges. Including deploying software updates, configuring systems, and installing hardware components.

\- Performing proactive maintenance: You'll conduct regular maintenance tasks to ensure the stability and security of our clients' IT environments. This may involve patch management, antivirus updates, and system backups.

\- You'll offer technical guidance and advice to both clients and colleagues, helping them understand complex IT concepts and make informed decisions.

\- Documentation and reporting: You'll maintain accurate documentation of all technical issues and solutions, as well as provide regular reports to management on the status of ongoing projects and support tickets.

\- Continuous learning: You'll stay updated on the latest technologies and best practices in the IT industry, continuously enhancing your skills and knowledge to better serve our clients.

\- Overall, as a Second Line IT Technician, you'll be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of our clients' IT systems and providing them with exceptional technical support and service.

The Person

We're looking for an experienced 2nd Line Support Engineer with a background with a Managed Service Provider (MSP). While MSP experience is a plus, what truly matters to us is your ability to thrive in a dynamic, customer\-centric environment. We're seeking individuals with excellent technical prowess and communication skills. Your ability to articulate complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner is paramount. Coupled with your technical expertise, your strong customer service skills and can\-do attitude will set you apart. In our fast\-paced world, the ability to remain calm and patient under pressure is invaluable. If you have previous experience in a service desk role, whether in a service provider or corporate environment, and possess a proven track record in IT support and installation, we want to hear from you.

Essential

\- Office365 Administration

\- Ticket management, ownership and escalation

\- Configuration, migration, and installation of Windows Server 2008 to 2022

\- Hyper\-V virtual server configuration, migration, and installation

\- Switching and VLAN configuration

\- Windows Remote Desktop Services

\- Active Directory Administration

\- Windows 7/8/10/11 operating systems

\- Microsoft Azure, AWS Cloud Administration

Desirable

\- Experience with SonicWALL and Fortinet Firewalls

\- HP Server clustering and replication configuration

\- MS SQL Server migrations and installations

\- MS Exchange Server Inc. migrations to Office 365

\- Advanced Office 365 Support including PowerShell experience

\- Cisco Meraki and Ubiquiti Wireless deployments

\- Hyper\-V / VMware Server experience

\- Gamma VoIP and 3cx SIP Phone systems experience

\- Leased Line, Fibre, and Broadband Installations

\- Cat5/6 Cabling and Cab builds

\- Web hosting, domain name, and DNS management
