A well-established Further Education College in East London is seeking an engaging and dedicated 14-16 Provision Lecturer to join its team on a part-time temporary basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator who is passionate about supporting young people aged 14-16 and helping them develop the skills, confidence, and knowledge needed to progress successfully into further education, training, or employment.
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching and learning to students from a range of educational backgrounds, creating an inclusive and supportive environment that promotes engagement, achievement, and personal development.
The Role The 14-16 Provision Lecturer will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons that meet the needs of learners working within a further education environment.
Working closely with curriculum teams, pastoral staff, and external stakeholders, the postholder will support students academically and personally, ensuring they remain motivated, safe, and on track to achieve positive outcomes.
This role combines high-quality teaching, learner support, safeguarding responsibilities, and effective classroom management within a dynamic and rewarding FE setting.
Key Responsibilities • Deliver engaging and effective teaching to learners aged 14-16
- Plan, prepare, and assess learning activities in line with curriculum requirements
- Monitor and track student attendance, progress, behaviour, and achievement
- Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Differentiate learning to meet the needs of individual learners
- Support students with varying abilities, including those with SEND, SEMH, or additional learning needs
- Maintain accurate learner records, assessment data, and progress reports
- Work collaboratively with curriculum, safeguarding, and student support teams
- Promote high expectations for attendance, behaviour, and achievement
- Contribute to enrichment activities, student reviews, and parent/carer communication where required
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and college policies and procedures
- Experience teaching learners aged 14-16 within a school, college, alternative provision, or training environment
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Experience supporting learners with diverse educational needs
- Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities
- Ability to engage, motivate, and inspire young people
- Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to raising achievement and supporting learner progression
- Experience supporting learners with SEND and/or SEMH needs
- Experience delivering Functional Skills, GCSE, vocational, or core curriculum subjects
- Knowledge of alternative provision or re-engagement programmes
- Experience working with external agencies, schools, and local authorities
- Current DBS registered on the Update Service
